Welcome to Right Choice Independent Special School

Right Choice was set up in 2004 as part of an exit strategy from being the leading mentoring project in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Our motto is inspired by “Giving Young People a Second Chance” because we believe it is our mission to provide a safe, creative and supportive space for children and young people, who have been excluded from mainstream education settings, to explore and realise their potential. Our staff of teaching, administrative and specialist professionals are committed, diverse and reflect the demographics of the area that we serve. Their specialisms are ideal for the creative support of students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties, including those with behavioural and learning difficulties. Right Choice is a registered AQA Centre and we provide a refreshing alternative to mainstream education settings with a curriculum offer that covers National Curriculum subjects from Certificate to GCSE level and a credible vocational strand, delivered in partnership with a number of local providers from Certificate to BTEC level. Our blend of educational and vocational learning opportunities, together with emotional and wellbeing support as well as sporting activities and careers advice are designed to help each individual learner to get their best outcome possible by promoting Engagement in Learning which yields Achievements and lays the foundation for Progress that is sustained beyond Key Stage 4 Education. Welcome to Right Choice, a school where you get a second chance to realise your potential, achieve the best outcome for you and where you being uniquely you is not only encouraged but celebrated.
